About Health View Delta
Those of us who have goals for our weight and have researched how calories and weight loss or gain works know that even with all of the science available today, the best recommendations and data are less than reliable. There is no perfect formula.
Many approaches involve using the delta of calories consumed versus burned. However, there are metrics like BMI and BMR that come into play, not to mention the Activity and Step tracking.
Recording all of your health, calorie, and weight information is a great way to see your progress and stay motivated, but how do you relate all of that information to make smart choices about eating or exercise if your results are inconsistent or vary along the way? How do you monitor that elusive delta? How does that relate to weight changes?
Health View Delta is the answer. It uses read-only access to your existing data, does not share it--stays local to your device--and aims to give you new insights through charts and some simple calculations. Starts with a Today view of average total calories burned, consumed, and delta between the two, but also has several charts to help you identify trends in your data.
Unsure about the calculations of other apps or Activity? If your Age, Height, and Gender are set in the Apple Health profile--variations of your BMR (confidence range all shown in one place, including all three common Personal Activity Levels) can also be viewed to compare the standard total delta metrics.
Best value for those who regularly track weight, calories consumed, and burned using other apps that are synchronized with HealthKit enabled.
Does not require any data entry--other apps are great at tracking calories and weight--but we will help you make sense of all of that data captured along the way.
