About Read Scripture

The goal of Read Scripture is that everyone would read the Bible for themselves and discover the truth and beauty of God’s Word.

To this end, we are curating a year-long Bible reading plan and supplementing the reading with amazingly creative videos (produced by our friends at the Bible Project) that explain every book of the Bible, major theological themes of the gospel, and tips on how to read the Bible.

We house all of this content in a beautifully designed app that is available to download in the App Store.

We encourage you to experience Read Scripture in community but it is set up so that you can go through it on your own.

With 2017 quickly approaching, we are introducing an easy way to start the Year of Biblical Literacy plan for the new year. Simply enable "Year of Biblical Literacy" in the settings which will set the start date of to January 1st. If it says "January 1st, 2016", don't worry. It'll automatically roll over to January 1st, 2017 in the new year. =)

We also made few changes to the reading view which will hopefully help you read and understand the Bible better.

squashed some more bugs (wohoo, thanks micah who just joined as a volunteer)

one big one was the multiple notifications one - even though we'd already fixed it, many ppl didn't know you had to click on the "alarm" button to reset timer.

So we've gone and made it automatic the next time you install this update. *(but just in case, click on alarm button to make sure everything is right)

UPDATE: to stop getting multiple notifications, click the "alarm" in the top right and chose a time (it can be the same time).
- Fixed a bug where you would get 1 notification the first day, 2 the next, and 3 and so on... kind of like the 12 days of christmas ;) Apple also was backed up for the holidays so thanks for your patience! ;)
